COURSE TITLE: HAZWOPER - Refresher Carpinteria DESCRIPTION: This classroom topic primarily focuses around safety issues for oil spill response personnel. Some of the topics covered will include: Oil Spill Response, OSHA Hazwoper Requirements, Site Characterization, Site Specific Safety & Health Plans, Physical and Chemical Hazards, the Hazard Communication Standard, Decontamination Procedures and the Incident Command System. This course was designed to meet basic post emergency response requirements as well as fulfilling Annual Refresher Training under 29 CFR 1910. 120. There will be a field demonstration of decontamination procedures. All classes are held in Carpinteria

COURSE TITLE: HAZWOPER - First Responder Operations Carpinteria DESCRIPTION: 24-hour Hazwoper Occasional Site Worker: This certification is needed if you work in any of the following capacities; someone who works at a hazardous waste clean up site on an occasional basis like an engineer, project manager, or a surveyor, or someone who regularly works with, or cleanse up hazardous materials or wastes with exposures within "permissible" levels and that do not require the use of respitory protection. This course fulfills the requirements for certification under 29 CFR, Part 1910.120 (e) as an Occasional Site Worker and California Title 8 5192 (q). All classes are held in Carpinteria

COURSE TITLE: FIELD OPERATIONS - CONTAINMENT & RECOVERY - OFFSHORE VENTURA HARBOR DESCRIPTION: This training session focuses on the protection of the inner-harbor from an oil spill offshore or from an onshore pipeline. Containment and diversionary booms and skimming operations are reviewed. Protection of rocky shoreline with booms is reviewed as well as the protection of moored vessels and commercial facilities. Training will include hands-on deployment and recovery of response equipment, the deployment and recovery portion of this exercise may fulfill regulatory requirements for annual certification.

COURSE TITLE: CONTAINMENT & RECOVERY NEARSHORE SANTA BARBARA HARBOR DESCRIPTION: This training session focuses on the protection of the inner-harbor from an oil spill offshore or from an onshore pipeline. COURSE TITLE: FIRST LINE SUPERVISORS COURSE CARPINTERIA DESCRIPTION: This program will prepare the Field Supervisor for offshore operational responsibilities of an oil spill. Response theories and strategies will be reviewed. The following topics will be covered: Initial action, Contingency Planing, Site Safety Plans, Surveillance Techniques, Dispersant Usage, In-Situ Burning, , Availability of Equipment and Resources, Documentation of Response Activities, Priorities for Equipment Deployment, Decontamination of Personnel, Initial Response Action Plans, and the Incident Command System. This course should target platform/onshore field response supervisors who will be the initial incident commander for an oil spill and may be used as 8 hours credit towards "HAZWOPER On Scene Incident Command Training". COURSE TITLE: FIELD OPERATIONS - BOOM SENSITIVE AREA GOLETA SLOUGH DESCRIPTION: This training focuses on the protection of a sensitive wetland from an oil spill originating offshore or onshore. Containment and diversionary boom theories, skimming operations are reviewed. The field exercise involves the placement of boom at the entrance to the Goleta Slough. Training will include hands-on deployment and recovery of response equipment, the deployment and recovery portion of this exercise may fulfill regulatory requirements for annual certification.

COURSE TITLE: FAMILIARIZATION WORKSHOP CARPINTERIA DESCRIPTION: This training session covers key aspects of Clean Seas, including its history, purpose of operation, area of response, and spill response concepts. There is an equipment tour and an offshore demonstration. This session is oriented to personnel new to the area or assigned to a response management team where operational knowledge of spill techniques and equipment is beneficial in making response decisions. Training will include hands-on deployment and recovery of response equipment, the deployment and recovery portion of this exercise may fulfill regulatory requirements for annual certification. All classes are held in Carpinteria
EQUIPMENT: OSRV, FRBB, Open Ocean Boom, Advancing & Stationary Skimmers SAFETY NOTE: Bring Personal Protection Equipment: Work clothes, steel toed or non-slip shoes (life jacket & hard hat can be provided by Clean Seas). NO SHORTS OR SANDALS Offshore exercises require the transfer of personnel from a pier to a support boat, then transfer to the OSRV, and return the same way. Only those who are physically capable of making this transfer should participate in the offshore portion of the exercise. LUNCH PROVIDED
COURSE TITLE: DISPERSANT APPLICATION WORKSHOP CARPINTERIA DESCRIPTION: This training session focuses on the issues and logistics surrounding the use of dispersants to control the spread of an oil spill. Dispersants are utilized when conventional mechanical containment techniques cannot be employed, or when an oil spill threatens shorelines and sensitive areas. The requirements for dispersants approved in State and Federal waters, equipment and application techniques are reviewed. A demonstration of Dispersant Application by helicopter including field landing site preparation will be conducted.

COURSE TITLE: SPILL RESPONSE MANAGEMENT COURSE Carpinteria DESCRIPTION: This 3 day training session focuses on all aspects of oil spill response. Offshore and near-shore containment, recovery techniques, and equipment utilized during an oil spill response. There will be instruction on safety and health, shoreline clean-up and the Incident Command System. Training will include hands-on deployment and recovery of response equipment in Open Ocean and near shore environment. This course provides the Hazwoper 24 hour requirement for Incident Commanders and MMS Supervisory Training (30CFR 254.41) All classes are held in Carpinteria

COURSE TITLE: FORT - Training and Orientation CARPINTERIA DESCRIPTION: This training session focuses on orientation and training of the commercial fishermen. Subjects covered will include: Familiarization of Clean Seas, the business relationship with the FORT organization, safety, and specific operational functions of the commercial fishermen during an oil spill response. Participants will be required to participate in the offshore hands-on operation of equipment. Local fishing boats may be used to assist in the deployment, recovery, and towing of the containment boom. On open ocean and near shore techniques All classes are held in Carpinteria

COURSE TITLE: SHORELINE CLEAN UP MANAGEMENT COURSE CARPINTERIA DESCRIPTION: This course will cover topics that concern the management of a shoreline response. A classroom portion will include the following subjects: Initial response consideration, evaluation of response resources, documentation , site safety, staging area considerations, the Incident Command System, waste management, and advantages/disadvantages of response strategies. The course includes site clean-up assessment (SCAT ) training at local beaches All classes are held in Carpinteria

COURSE TITLE: SPILL RESPONSE MANAGEMENT - ICS 100 CARPINTERIA DESCRIPTION: (Incident Command System - 16 Hours) This Course is an introductory course in the Incident Management System. Target audience is Oil Company personnel assigned to positions in their respective companies Incident Management Team. The course outlines tools (ICS forms, ACP, RCP etc..) available to assist personnel in functioning in their assigned positions. The course will also review and discuss position requirements and meeting schedules. Participants should know where in their companies Incident Management Team they would be assigned, prior to attending this course. All classes are held in Carpinteria
